Lazy Sunday

We had a lazy Sunday. Billy just hung out swinging in his swing (the one he is about to grow out of) and watching Sponge Bob. It was nice to have a day with no appointments. I know Billy was really tired and ready for a "lazy day".

Chelsea and Zack came by to visit for a few minutes. They are leaving for California for vacation next Tuesday. Billy was very exited to see his sissy. She is so busy we don't get to see her much.

Brittany finally let me dye her hair back to its natural color. Chelsea cut and dyed her hair Carmel a few months ago. It looked good but now it looks better. " She is only 10" Girls.......

In Loving Memory of Jordon

Today we celebrated the memory of precious little Jordon by releasing two red balloons. Jordon passed away peacefully in her sleep earlier in the week. As sad as we may be we celebrate that she has been healed and is in the arms of our heavenly father. Even though we never got to meet her she was still a part of our lives. We are very sad for her parents, sister and brother and will keep them in our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. Jordons mother and I belong to the same support group and I have followed her Blog for a good while. It was so obvious how much this little angel was loved and cared for. I hope her parents will take comfort in knowing that there will be a remarkable day when they will meet again. The earth was so blessed with this beautiful little angel and now Heaven is blessed with another guardian Angel " Jordon".

Busy, Busy, Busy

We have had a busy few days. Took Biily to see the Gastr. Doc the other day. He had a wonderful check-up. He weighs 72 pounds and in 4ft 4in. tall. He is becoming quit the young man. The doc gave us the thumbs up on starting the Blenderized diet. We have started with baby food, just to make sure he doesn't have any allergies. We will do this very slow. The next step is to start blending real food, but I will need to work hand in hand with the nutritionists to make sure he gets all the vitamins and minerals he needs to grow. Can't wait to blend a Happy Meal, lol.
Billy has almost grown out of all his equipment, so we are in the process of ordering some new stuff. He has already gotten a few things. Physio Roll, Bench to work on standing so we can teach him how to help with transitioning from one position to another. He also has recieved his jet mobile, we are going to have a blast on that. We are waiting on a few more toys then we are going to start working on getting the big stuff. I just hope the insurance cooperates.
Over all Billy is doing great, he is a very busy little boy.

Woderful couple of Days

Billy has had a wonderful couple of days!! On Friday he had an appointment with Dr. Trainer for a recheck on his Botox injections. All is great! The Botox is working wonders on his arm ,wrist's and fingers. He will go back in April for more injections. While sitting in the room waiting for the doctor to come in Billy decided he was ready to go. He was sitting on the edge of the table with his feet on the ground and all at once he stood up (I was holding him of course) and started walking, straight to the door. He has not took steps like that in a very long time. Tickled me and Nurse Betty to death. We also had him weighed while we were there he weighed a wopping "70" pounds. No wonder my back hurts all the time. He has an appointment with Dr. Cordele (gastrointerologist) this Friday. I have a feeling he is going to lower his caloric intake again.. He is very thin, I guess where he has grown length wise is were the weight is coming from.He is rapidly growing out of all of his eqipment, including his wheel chair.. Looks like we are going to have to get some tracking with a lift in the house very soon. He really is growing into such an amazing young "man".
Sunday we took the kids to the Aquarium in Gatlinburg. They had a blast. Billy loves watching the fish. That is about the only thing I have ever seen him track with his eyes consistantly. If there wasn't so much maintnance in fish I would get Billy his own fish tank. Maybe when and if I ever get extra time to devote to a pet we will get him one. The bacteria also wories me UGGGG.
Monday he had PT with Mrs. Wendy and did wonderful. Spencer also came over and they played and watched cartoons together.
Today we had a bit of a lazy day. We were suppose to go to Speech but Mrs. Anissa was under the wheather. So went grocery shopping instead. Billy was not pleased!! He loves to shop but not for groceries.

Well, it has been a crazy couple of weeks!
Billy has been really busy. Therapy, therapy, therapy. He is quit a busy little boy.We did get to have a fun day at Muddy Creek Sunday watching Daddy and Brittany race, riding the golf cart and just enjoying the sun shine. All was great till Monday when he woke up with a swollen eye,we went to the doctor today to find out he has an eye infection. Seven days of eye drops(UGGGG) and all will be great again. We have an appointment with doctor Trainer in Knoxville Friday for a recheck on his Botox injections. He is doing great, so I am sure it will a great visit but a hard day of riding in the car! This weekend is suppose to yuky weather again so we will have plenty of R&R in our PJ's and watching Sponge Bob.

Billy has a very busy couple of days. Yesturday I took him to knoxville to see Dr. Sears, the orthopedic surgeon. He had a great check up. Dr, Sears says no surgeries in the near future...YEAH His left hip is extreamly dis located but as long as he has no pain from it we are OK. He has no permanent contractures for now he was able to get his whole body in neatural. Boy does he scare me to death when he stretch's him. He did say that Billy was at risk for stress fractures but we need to continue being very aggresive with his stretches. If he gets a stress fracture or a broken bone we will deal with it, Easy for him to say!!!
Today we got up and went to Physical Thearapy were he really got stretched, I have a hard time watching. Then he did some sit to stand excercise and he really worked hard. He stood for about 10 seconds, which is really good since he quite bearing anyway after this last surgery. We are hoping he will get back to walking with his walker soon. After therapy we went and picked up Billy's friend Molly. Hope to have pics posted by Monday. They have played so hard today they were
asleep by 9:00 pm. Tomorrow we are all staying in our jamies ( after bath time) and watch Sponge Bob all day!!!

Billy had a pretty busy day. He decided sleeping was not very important this morning and was awake and ready to get up at 5am. His nurse Betty came in to help out today (thank God for her). Brittany was home sick and I had to take her to the doctor. So I took Billy and Betty to speech therapy and Brittany to the doctor (stomach bug UGGGG). Billy had a real good speech session today. During his vital stim he swallowed really well for the first 20 min.with very few promts. Then he fatigued , but continued to do well. Anissa does an amazing job with Billy. He probably did so well because I was not there,( little rat). He doesn't want mom to know all his tricks.
After speech we went to see Richard at Excell orthotics to get Billy fitted for his new DAFO's (leg braces). We had a good visit but were unable to get him casted because the doctor wrote the order for the wrong DAFO's. We will get it straight and do it again. Billy likes going to see Richard, so all is well. We cancelled school for today due to the fact Brittany is sick and we don't want to share her germs with Allison ( Billy's teacher). So the rest of the day Billy has lounged around watching the Sponge Bob (his hero) marathon. He is a happy little camper.
