Brittany #3

Slowly but surely getting back to some normality

I Love Spending Time With SiSSY!!!!!

It has been two weeks since Billy's unexplained status seizure and stomach bleed. We still have no answers, but as each day comes he seems to be getting stronger and more like himself. He is still having some discomfort in his stomach. If that does not resolve in a few more day's we will be heading up the highway to Roanoke to see his gastro. On a good note we have not seen any more seizure activity. He has an appointment with the developmental pediatrician and the Neurologist next week and we are hoping for some answers. The unknown is very terrifying!!!
The weather the last few days has been beautiful. We have gotten Billy out quite abit and he has really enjoyed himself. Last Friday Chelsea came up and we spent some time with her and "mamaw" at the park then had lunch at Crackerbarrel. Billy really enjoys spending time with his sissy( he does not get to see her very often). On Sunday his mamaw, Aunt Regina uncle Mike and cousin Kinsey came over. Kinsey brought her 4- wheeler. Brittany rode her motorcycle and Billy rode on the golf cart. We went in the woods behind the house and the kids had a blast. Even though Billy can't do exactly (we try to modify as much as possible)what the others do he still loves being part of the gang.
Please continue to pray for Billy!!!

Thank You!!!

I just wanted to say Thank You to every one for your thougts and prayers!!!

Still no answers, but feeling better!!!

"Me and minnie me"!! ( Billy and Dad sleeping in th "same" position all the way down to their fingers!)
Billy getting lots of love from Mrs. Betty!!!

Getting lots of love from Britt, I think she missed him and she was very worried!!

Praise God!!!!!!!!! Billy is feeling much better.

Most of the last few days he has done nothing but sleep. But as we all know sleep heals. He did perk up allot more today.

The seizure had left the left side of his face twitching and his right lower lip drooping ( it looked like he had a stroke). The twitch has finally stopped and the droopy lip is perky again. Because of how weak he was we (doctors and dad and I) have decided not to travel to Charlottsville to see the Neurologist. He is going to be in town for clinic on the 5th of May and wants to see him then. Continuing new seizure meds.

As far as his stomach bleed.......

I think we are on the up side of healing. He is still not tolerating much food which is making him a little weak. The Gastrointerologist ( Roanoke, Va.) also does not want us to travel with Billy right now and does not want to run any test because putting Billy to sleep right now would be too risky. But he has changed his stomach meds to Carofate and Nexium. He said that a 4 hour seizure could definatly be enough stress to cause a stomach ( ulcer) bleed. I told him I knew that because "my "stomach was killing me!!LOL If we are still seeing blood in his stomach at the end of the week we are to head up the highway for test. But so far so good!!( knocking on wood)

We did take him to his Pulmonologist (Dr. Ricky Mohan) on Monday.

He went over the C-T scan results with us...... He had a bit of a collapse in one lobe of one of his lungs, which he says is fine. He had a cyst on one kidney, he said that was fine. There was no evidence of a new brain bleed!!! Thank you Jesus!!

So as for right now we have no answers for why Billy had a 4 hour seizure, but he is feeling better. I hope this never happens again!!!It has really took a toll on him and I have never been so scared in my life!! But if it does we now have medicine (DIASTAT) at home to begine the stopping process.

I am hoping in the next few weeks Billy will be back to his self and able to continue life as usual.............. school,PT,OT,and speech,"shopping" and play dates.

Please Continue To Keep "BILLY" in your Prayers!!!

Our little man gave us a great big scare!!! When it rains it pours.....

At 3am on Thursday morning Steve and I were awakened by Billy breathing heavier than I had ever heard. I got up and rushed to his side to find him having a seizure. This was not anything new, he has seizures from time to time, they usually last less than a minute and are over. (He had not had a seizure for atleast a month). I got him up and took him to the living room so that we could sit on the couch and comfort him through it. After a few minutes I got a really sick feeling, for this was not one of his typical seizures. His arms started frailing and he was kicking his legs and of course his eyes were fixed and his head was pulling to the right. Usually his seizures are localized to his face and he pulls to the left. I gave him some medicine to try to stop it. After 30 minutes into it he was getting very pale and blue around his lips. We decided we better go!!! We rushed him to JMH in Abingdon (the closest hospital). After four hours past he finally stopped seizing. He was then transfered via ambulance to Johnson City to the new Childrens Hospital and admitted to the PICU. They ran all kinds of test. The first being an EEG,blood work, urine, and a CT-scan. In the midst of all of this we found he had a pretty bad stomach bleed. So the CT-scan was also done on his abdomen. All of his blood work was elevated he had protein spilled in his urine. His calcium was very low. All of this was due to the Status Seizure. His EEG showed his seizures had stopped and the CT scan didn't show allot because of all of the rods in his back. But they did find a cyst on his right Kidney.
We are now home!!!! He is doing okey. Tonight we found his stomach had started bleeding again.UGGGGGGG!!!!
He is not his self at all. He has a crazy twitch on the left side of his face and his right side lower lip is drooping a little. I hope this is just the recovering part of the seizure. This next week we will be seeing the Gastroenterologist( Roanoke VA.) the Pulmonologist( Johnsoncity TN.) the Neurologist ( Charlotsville VA>) and possibly the urologist( Johnson City TN). Hopefully we will get some answers.
Please Keep Billy in your prayers!!!

Easter 2009

Easter was a very laid back quiet day. Billy was not feeling good so Billy and I stayed home and lounged all day. Steve and Brittany went and rode their motorcycles. Chelsea came over and spent the day with us. Billy was so happy to see her. She just got back from vacation in California.
The Easter Bunny did real good. After long deliberation and many trips around Wal-mart the Easter Bunny finally decided on a toy for Billy's basket. Once again back to the infant toy's (but thats okey, it was a hit).
swe Billy recieved in his basket along with his much enjoyed "Yellow" chocolate bunny he got a projector that plays summer night sounds and projects the moon and stars on the ceiling. HE LOVED IT!!! He actually went to bed tonight (before going to sleep) and laughed and smiled for a good 30 minutes. When he finally went to sleep he was still smiling! YEAH EASTER BUNNY!!!

Brittany was also pleased with the easter bunny. Instead of a new Easter Dress she got new riding gear. What a Tom boy. I love it!!
